Paul Chieco has been appointed to the Waterford Plantation Board of Directors to fill a new homeowner resident seat until April 2015.
Chieco comes to us from Long Island, N.Y. He moved here in 2010 after retiring from the New York Daily ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù·½Èë¿Ú. He has previously served as a director on the board of a catering corporation in various offices and has previously owned and operated a home remodeling business. Â
Chieco has volunteered to help Waterford evolve as a homeowner-controlled association and will be a part of the Waterford team striving for positive successes and more communications for all residents. Â
Please welcome Chieco to the board of directors. He will be a part of the forward motion of our team.

Notification has been made of truck activity at the Cottonpatch digging site off Gardner Lacy Road, including speeding and dust kickup.
Capt. Robert Carr with the Horry County Police Department has been advised and will be sending more patrols for speeding along Gardner Lacy Road.
The Horry County stormwater department has also been advised to have water put down to reduce dust and the speeding on the access road.
If anyone can catch the license tags, names of subcontractors (with truck number), date and time of day, police will respond to trucks on Gardner Lacy Road.
The access road is still considered private property and police cannot respond in there. Capt. Carr can be reached at his office at 915-7983.
The Waterford Plantation fall yard sale is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 4. Volunteers are being sought to help coordinate the event.
This event is held semi-annually and is a great chance to get involved in meeting your neighbors. Vinyl-type signs were purchased with previous funds raised by the donation of $3 per household.
We need a volunteer to coordinate the collection of money for the ads placed, preparing maps of the yard sale locations, etc. Please consider volunteering for all of Waterford. Contact me at waterfordnewsmb@aol.com to volunteer or for more details.
The Cat Ladies of Waterford are also preparing for the yard sale.
Handmade items including wind chimes, cat toys, crocheted hats, plants and other items are being made to be fully stocked for your gardens or early Christmas shopping. Funds raised from their endeavors go to keeping the feral cat colony in Waterford under control.
These volunteers have gotten 11 kittens adopted into loving homes. They have been capturing feral cats, arranging for spaying or neutering, shots, etc. and releasing back into the wild if no home can be found. These feral cats hunt the rodents and other small animals in the wild.
The Waterford Plantation board of directors with Waterford Plantation Firewise Committee has initiated an unimproved lot clearing program within Waterford. Letters were sent to the owners of unimproved lots. Details are available on the Waterford Plantation website.
