James 鈥淛oey鈥 Parler聽

A funeral service for James 鈥淛oey鈥 Parler, 83, will be held May 5 at 11 a.m. in Trinty United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill McCown and the Rev. Mel Arant officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.聽

Mr. Parler passed away April 30 in Embrace Hospice of South Carolina.听听

Born July 26, 1941, he was a son of the late Thomas Harry and Mary Locke Blackwell Parler. In addition to his parents, Mr. Parler was also predeceased by one son, Joey Parler.聽

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he was also a member of the choir. Mr. Parler retired from Aynor High School where he taught school for 32 years.聽

He was a founding member of the Theatre of the Republic in Conway, and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Parler is survived by his loving wife, Saundra Lockhart Parler; one daughter, Mary Parler Clark; two grandchildren, John R. Clark (Jessica Olin) and James W. Clark (Denise Clark); two great-grandchildren, Eleanor and Joseph Clark; and one sister, Beverly Ford.聽

Visitation for Mr. Parler will be held May 2 from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. in Johnson Funeral Home of Aynor.聽
