Daniel R. 鈥淐hico鈥 Strittmatter聽

Funeral services for Daniel R. 鈥淐hico鈥 Strittmatter, 62, officiated by the Rev. John Holmes, will be held Aug. 26 at 3 p.m. in Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.聽

Mr. Strittmatter passed away Aug. 22 in McLeod Seacoast Medical Center following complications from cardiac surgery earlier this summer.

Born May 27, 1963 in Point Pleasant, NJ, Daniel was the son of the late Thomas L. Strittmatter and the late Susan Morris Strittmatter. He was a general contractor, who owned his own construction company.聽

Daniel was a master carpenter and a jack of all trades who could do just about anything. He had a heart and personality as big as the great outdoors that he loved so well, and never met a stranger.聽

His two favorite outdoor adventures were fishing and hunting. Daniel was a friend and mentor to countless people and never hesitated to extend a helping hand. He loved animals, especially dogs, and was totally devoted to his dog, Dottie. Above all these things, though, he was never happier or more content than when spending time with his kids and grandkids.

In addition to his parents, Daniel was predeceased by his siblings, Thomas (Maureen), Matthew (Ronnie), Bonnie (Bob) and Bernie.

Survivors include his late-life partner, Patricia 鈥淭rish鈥 Kilkenny; his ex-wife and mother of his children, Jackie Strittmatter; his sons, Adam Strittmatter and Daniel Strittmatter Jr. and wife Megan; his grandchildren, Amelia Rose Strittmatter, James Daniel Strittmatter, Theodore James Callahan and Patrick James Wood; his adopted daughter and son-in-law, Danielle and Eric Callahan; his stepdaughter, Alicia Wood; his siblings, Charlene Chait (Dan Roberts), Mark Strittmatter (Kathy), Luke Strittmatter and John Strittmatter (Tiffany); and a host of other extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1 p.m.-3 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to either the American Heart Association or to Tunnels to Towers.
