A police siren in Horry County.

North Myrtle Beach police are investigating the death of a woman, a city spokesperson said.

Officers responded to 112 Hillside Drive South at about 8 p.m. Saturday, May 3 for a death investigation, spokesperson Lauren Jessie said. The criminal investigations department is currently investigating and there is no threat to the community, she said. 112 Hillside Drive South is a residential building near Main Street and Kings Highway.

Little information is currently being shared about the incident.

"At this time, the investigation is still in its very early stages, and many of your questions are part of what detectives are actively working to determine. Given the preliminary nature of the investigation, it would be聽irresponsible of our department to speculate or attempt to answer those specific questions聽until we have verified facts," Jessie wrote when asked for more information. "We are awaiting the official autopsy report from the Coroner鈥檚 Office, which will provide further details."
